Quick start

First textured instance in about five minutes.

  1. Import textures with the settings from Texture preparation.
  2. Right-click a master (see Master materials) > Create Material Instance. Or make a child of a preset in _Core/Materials/Presets (Presets).
  3. 01 Textures: assign Base Color Map and NNMR Map, set Tiling.
  4. Need relief (height blend, puddles, parallax)? Tick Use Height Map? and assign a Height Map.
  5. Metal? Tick Use Metallic? in 03 Surface.
  6. Tune color in 02 Base Color, normal / roughness / AO in 03 Surface.
  7. Extra effect (rain, moss, glow)? Tick the Use ...? checkbox at the top of its group.
  8. Drag the instance onto your mesh. Save it outside _Core.

Tip

Hover any parameter for a short description. Make a few parent instances per surface type (e.g. MI_Concrete_Base) and create asset instances as their children: shared settings in one place, fewer shader compiles.
