Installation¶
The material library (KurinStudio/_Core) ships inside every Kurin pack on Fab. No scripts, no plugins.
Install¶
- Open the pack on Fab (browser, Fab plugin in the editor, or Epic Games Launcher > Library > Fab Library).
- Click Add to Project (or Create Project).
- Pick your project and engine version 5.2 or newer.
- Open the project: the assets are in the Content Browser under KurinStudio.
- Wait for the first shader compile (only once, then the cache is used).
- Turn on the project settings below only if you use those features.
| Setting | Where | Needed for |
|---|---|---|
| Enable virtual texture support | Project Settings > Engine > Rendering > Virtual Textures (restart the editor) | Use Virtual Textures? (Virtual Textures), Landscape Blend |
| Generate Mesh Distance Fields | Project Settings > Engine > Rendering | Water shore waves (Water) |
Then make your first instance: Quick start.
Rules¶
- Do not edit, move or rename anything in
_Core: updates overwrite it. - Keep your instances in your own folder, e.g.
Content/MyProject/Materials. - Several Kurin packs share one
_Core. Overwriting it when adding a pack is expected; keep all packs on the latest version.
Updating¶
- Update all Kurin packs in the project from Fab and add them to the project again.
- File > Save All, then restart the editor.
- Master shows wrong parameters or errors? Open it, press Apply, then Save.
